You’ll lead a dedicated team, foster strong relationships with partners like The Gathering Café and Lysaght Watt Art Gallery, and ensure our facilities are welcoming and well‑run. From managing bookings and collections to promoting local tourism and AA services, you’ll help shape a space that truly serves South Taranaki.
About You - You're a confident communicator and natural leader with a "can‑do" attitude and strong local knowledge of South Taranaki. You build meaningful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and engage effectively across diverse audiences. With cultural awareness and a solid understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi, you bring empathy and professionalism to everything you do. You thrive on new challenges and use your technical expertise to navigate complex situations and deliver successful outcomes.
Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, therefore must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work visa. In terms of residence class visa applications, priority will be given where the applicant is in New Zealand.
The salary range for this position is between FTE $ 83,430 and FTE $ 92,700 and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.
