• OverviewThe Christchurch Older Persons Community Mental Health Team are looking for an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse to join this team.

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will provide a comprehensive, accessible and responsive mental health service to adults and their families within a defined locality.

This is primarily a care-coordination role, where you will be responsible for supporting patients on their journey of recovery.

You should have relevant and recent experience of working in a mental health environment and be able to apply the philosophies of engagement and recovery in your work with patients, their carers and their family.You will work as part of a well-established, supportive team including a Psychiatrist, Nurses, Psychologists, a Social Worker, Administration and a Support Time Recovery Worker.

The team offers peer support led by psychology, and regular management and clinical supervision to help you practice safely while developing your skills.

This role is 28 hours 15 minutes per week and requires a valid driving licence and use of a car, as you will assess and monitor patients in their homes and in other community settings.Main duties of the jobTo provide a comprehensive, accessible and responsive mental health service to older adults and their families within a defined locality.To support the team leader and the locality service manager in the implementation of the Dorset Healthcare Mental Health Strategy.To continually develop clinical, team and service evaluation and delivery of service.To contribute to effective multi-disciplinary working within the community mental health service and to build effective liaison with community, primary, and other secondary and tertiary services / agencies to provide holistic care based on the individual's need and service development.About usAt Dorset HealthCare we empower people to make the most of their lives through outstanding, joined-up healthcare services.
