BT Builders is looking for a painter and plasterer. We’re a smaller company, who build homes within the Selwyn and Ashburton districts. Our vision is to develop land and build bespoke homes on our sections.
We’re passionate about the team having great work ethics and morals. We believe in a high level of communication and encourage responsibility. You need to be highly motivated. We require a minimum of 2-3 years experience.
We’re offering a minimum of 40 hours and a maximum of 45 hours
- Prepare the layout of the project.
- Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions like material.
- Select the materials need for work.
- Work and understand blueprints, scope, workflow documentation or instructions from supervisors.
- Work with high variety of materials, such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, AAC panel, and polystyrene panel.
- Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders, nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
- Work safety on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.
- Check work along the way to ensure quality and if is what was coded and specifications required.
- Use levels, rules, plumb, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level, secure and make sure that the equipment is tagged and not expired.
- Work with new residential houses.
- Install battens, both interior and exterior.
- Do the repair of external and internal cladding
- Install plasterboard cladding and AAC 50mm panel cladding
- Use sanding and buffing tools to make surface even and smoother.
- Clean up work site before, during and after jobs.
- Handle chemicals such pour into stripping tanks.
- Hand over tools as needed to painters and plasterers.
- Scaffolding.
- Carrying out work thinking about the Health and Safety requirements for worksite safety
- Communicating with your supervisor of current work status and give feedback on project.
- General housekeeping and any other duties specified by your supervisor
- To be prepared to travel to the employer’s sites anywhere within the Canterbury region, as required.
- To do all such incidental things consistent with the profession of a plasterer or painter as are reasonably necessary.
- To liaise with the Employer on a regularly and take instruction on any painting and plastering duty.
- To comply with Company requirements in relation to OSH management policy and with the requirements specifically to the reporting of accidents, the notification and Company accident register.
- Undertake and carry out any other duties or tasks as requested by the Employer that you are trained or that you will receive training to do.
