Overview

Be at the forefront of climate action in New Zealand and the Pacific by joining Beca’s national Strategic Advisory team, contributing to the provision of climate adaptation and risk consulting services throughout Beca. You will be working with a passionate team providing climate change advice from high‑level corporate strategies through to practical tangible implementation across a vast array of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide climate risk and adaptation consulting services to elevate climate change considerations, supporting clients in understanding and reporting across enterprise and project risks.
  • Work across a variety of climate resilience consulting projects and client sectors, elevating climate risk considerations across infrastructure, local government, central government, and the private sector.
  • Significant career development opportunities, learning from Beca’s technical experts to grow sustainability, consulting, project delivery, and client management abilities.
  • Lead projects and coach junior staff, manage data analysis, facilitate workshops, and prepare reports.
  • Partner with clients to develop robust solutions, shape resilient futures, and pursue new market opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable technical experience leading climate adaptation or climate risk initiatives in New Zealand or the Pacific.
  • Credible, comfortable, and effective communicator on climate change expertise.
  • Experience engaging with clients, pursuing and winning project commissions, and growing service offerings.
  • Recognised expertise and network within the New Zealand or Pacific market in climate change advisory.
  • Willingness to travel within New Zealand and internationally periodically.
  • Ability to lead and coach junior staff and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly motivated, self‑directed, critically minded, and a problem solver.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification across environmental science, engineering, planning, finance, economics, business, statistics, or related disciplines.
