Sr. Ruby on Rails Engineer (Knowledge) at Aha!

Our technology

Our web application is a single-instance, multi-tenant Ruby on Rails monolith with Postgres, Redis, and memcached. We also run a Node.js server for collaborative editing and real-time updates. Hosting is on AWS with ECS. The frontend balances Rails conventions with React for interactive features.

Your experience

Most features involve writing significant Ruby on Rails code in a Rails codebase. We also work with React, and we are happy to help you learn that part on the job.

Skills

  • Four+ years of experience working in Ruby on Rails
  • Builder of scalable, efficient, and maintainable architectures
  • Experience developing features at a high-growth SaaS company
  • Active collaborator with product teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills, humility, willingness to learn, and helpfulness to teammates

Responsibilities

  • Implement new features across the MVC stack as needed
  • Build interactive reporting interfaces using React
  • Collaborate with product and UX to refine specifications
  • Investigate slow performance and optimize queries for snappy UX
  • Interface with users to quickly resolve bugs as part of customer support rotation
  • Document components in the style guide to drive consistency
  • What you’ll work on

    The Knowledge team builds collaborative whiteboards and notes editors, integrates tools with other Aha! features, and enables collaboration and sharing across organizations and external users.

  • Base salary range in the U.S. : $110,000–$190,000
