About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic,
innovative and committed registered nurse to join the National Youth Secure Forensic Inpatient team at Kenepuru Hospital.
We offer an MDT approach to specialised
assessment and treatment for youth offenders with mental health problems within
a bi-cultural model of care.
We work within a framework of clinical governance and are a progressive service
committed to providing a culture of ongoing professional development for staff
through regular supervision, an excellent professional development and
recognition programme (PDRP), regular in-service training and support towards
external education.
You will be required to
provide 24 hour assessment and care to our rangatahi (young people) in
conjunction with the MDT.
You will also be responsible for the oversight of the
unregulated workforce.
About the
Team / Service Location

Taiohi is the national secure youth forensic 10 beds unit for
the treatment of Rangatahi (young people) with severe health and / or alcohol and
other drugs (AOD) issues who have offended or alleged to have offended and are
involved in New Zealand's justice system.
About you
forensic experience preferred.
with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse Demonstrates an
understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o
Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in
the nursing role.
for Maori.
commitment to on-going learning and development including
attainment / maintenance of PDRP.
Practising Certificate.
