Hospitality New Zealand – Queenstown, South Island
We’re looking for an energetic, outgoing and passionate Regional Manager to represent Hospitality New Zealand across the Southern South Island.
In this role, you’ll be the key connector for local hospitality and accommodation operators, supporting members, growing membership, hosting events, and advocating for the sector with local government and stakeholders.
This role can be based in Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown. A vehicle is provided, and regular regional travel (plus occasional Wellington travel) is required, including some overnight stays.

Our Southern South Island Regional Manager will deliver sound advice, support and exceptional service to Hospitality New Zealand members while growing the membership base and advocating to local government and stakeholders on behalf of the industry. They will also provide members and potential members with training and events, including social engagements.
We are searching for someone who is outgoing, energetic, and passionate about what we do for our Hospitality New Zealand members.
This position can be Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown based, and our successful person will be provided with a car to travel throughout the region regularly and, at times, be required to travel to Wellington, where our National Service Centre is located. Some travel may include overnight stays.
Responsibilities
Member Support : Maintain an overview of service standards and delivery to members, providing support and advice where necessary on a wide range of hospitality related topics including compliance.Events & Training : Ensure you regularly organise and host relevant industry events for your members / prospects and promote Hospitality NZ Training and Events.Membership Recruitment & Retention : Manage the recruitment and retention of members by specific Hospitality New Zealand targets.Branch Support : The branches have one Regional Manager employed full‑time by HNZ to support and assist their regional members.Advocacy : Lead in delivering advocacy initiatives, plans, programmes and strategies for Hospitality New Zealand with the support of the Head of Communications and Advocacy.Desired Skills and Qualifications
Strong Hospitality or Accommodation Industry Experience : Proven track record in the hospitality or accommodation sector, with a deep understanding of industry dynamics, trends, and challenges.Strong Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.Proficient in Microsoft & Google : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs, with strong capability in navigating digital tools and systems.Excellent Relationship Builder : Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with members, stakeholders, and team members.Full NZ Driver’s License and Able to Spend Nights Away : Possession of a valid New Zealand driver's license and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays as required.Able to Work in NZ Without Any Visa Restrictions : Legal authorisation to work in New Zealand without any visa restrictions.Alcohol Licensing Knowledge (Preferable) : Familiarity with alcohol licensing regulations and processes, enhancing the ability to provide relevant support and advice to members.Employment Law Knowledge (Preferable) : Understanding of New Zealand employment laws, ensuring compliance and offering valuable guidance to members.Hospitality / Tourism Qualifications (Desirable but Not Essential) : Qualifications in hospitality or tourism would be an advantage but not mandatory for the right candidate.If you are a motivated and dedicated individual passionate about the hospitality industry, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
