About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist with great IT skills who is up for a challenge; ready to sidestep the status quo for a new, memorable experience!
In this role you will be the IT Super User for Diagnostic Genetics and will be responsible for managing the departments IT requirements.
You will be the first point of contact for all computer related issues and liaise between the department, Lab Information Systems, IT Helpdesk and department, and external vendors.

About the Team / Service / Location
The Diagnostic Genetics laboratory provides a comprehensive service using both cytogenetic and molecular genetics techniques enabling us to resolve clinical diagnoses with a genetic component.
We analyse pre and post-natal samples, providing predictive testing, and confirmation of a clinical diagnosis in the management of a spectrum of both malignant and inherited disorders.
Our portfolio of tests is constantly being upgraded with a view to reducing turnaround times and enhancing our tests to take into account new technologies and approaches in line with international clinical and research data.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes : -
This will include IT projects, daily IT operations and IT troubleshooting.
You will receive comprehensive training in all aspects of our diagnostic genetics service relevant to the position, but will be expected to have a background in IT.
