Role Overview
You will provide technical input and leadership across large‑scale structural engineering projects within the Property & Buildings Group, managing scope and coordinating resources to deliver technical excellence for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and expertise for structural projects.
- Challenge every process to drive innovation in everything we do.
- Develop our staff through projects and actively promote and create future technical leaders within the organisation.
- Promote best practice and technical excellence by applying sound technical review practices and taking a leading role in delivery of key or strategic projects across the globe.
- Be the role model for the technical stream and develop our people.
- Assist in the development of strategy and delivery of key regionally strategic bids, ensuring that all significant opportunities are maximised for success.
- Actively market the company’s skill, capability and performance and assist the Building Structures leadership team in business planning and strategic planning.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to decisions about technical issues and problem‑solve to get the best possible outcome for the project.
Qualifications
Registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand.Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Building Structures Engineering.Strong knowledge of structural seismic design and earthquake engineering requirements in New Zealand.Work experience in a large consultancy environment with track records of projects such as commercial builds, hospitals, universities, hotels and apartments.Able to work effectively and competently with people at all levels; within and external to the organisation.WSP NZ has proudly earned its place among the top five employers to work for in Aotearoa New Zealand and was listed as one of TIME’s 2023 top 100 companies globally for employees.
