English teacher

Overview

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher English. We seek a dynamic, passionate and enthusiastic teacher of English to join our English faculty starting January 2026 or earlier by negotiation.

Applicants should have a current New Zealand teacher registration and a working knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum with the ability to teach Year 9–13 the English New Zealand Curriculum consisting of the exploration and making meaning of literature and the creation of meaning through written texts. The successful candidate will have :

Qualifications

• a genuine passion for teaching and a clear understanding of NCEA
• experience in differentiated teaching at the junior and senior levels
• ability to be a team player who will work collaboratively to raise student achievement
• knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensure te reo me ōna tikanga are upheld
• relational practices to tautoko positive relationships within our kura
