Full time, though part time hours will be consideredThe Office of the Director of Public Health provides clinical, public health policy and strategic advice to support the work programme of the Public Health Agency (PHA), the broader Ministry, other health sector agencies and broader government sector.
Ko tōu ake mahi - What you'll do
The Public Health Medicine Registrar will be a member of the Office of the Director of Public Health which works closely with other teams within the Public Health Agency. The scope of work includes engagement with the wider Ministry, National Public Health Service, and other central government agencies to address the determinants of health. The work programme we deliver creates extensive training opportunities, with good supervision for registrars at any stage of their training. This position is full time fixed term until June 2026.

Public Health Medicine Registrar in the New Zealand College of Public Health Training Programme
Registered Medical Doctor with annual practising certificate
Strong written and oral communication skills including ability to write and talk about technical issues clearly and concisely to non-technical people
Demonstrated knowledge of key issues impacting on the New Zealand health and disability sector
Ability to work effectively with other teams within the Public Health Agency, Manatū Hauora, Te Whatu Ora and other government agencies
