Teacher of performing arts – dance & drama

Full time, permanent – start January

Westlake Girls High School is a leading secular state girls' school in New Zealand with more than 2,000 students, situated on Auckland's North Shore.

There is an ongoing programme of investment in teaching and facilities across the school which has an impressive history and a dynamic future.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative educator to inspire students in dance and with the ability to teach drama as part of our performing arts programme.

You will be expected to :

Deliver engaging and high-quality dance lessons across curriculum pathways.

Teach drama to complement and strengthen the performing arts programme.

Create a vibrant, inclusive environment where students explore their creativity and develop confidence.

Support extra-curricular opportunities such as productions, showcases and performance events.

The successful applicant will have :

A passion for dance and drama education.

Ability to create innovative learning experiences that encourage artistic expression.

A commitment to building a strong performing arts culture within the school.

Applicants are expected to participate in the extensive co-curricular life of the school.

Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education.

Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications.

Hours of work will be full time as set out in the STCA.
