  • Our Wellbeing, Health and Safety (WHS) approach at ACC focuses on creating an environment where our people can thrive, bringing their best each day to achieve great outcomes for kiritaki and whānau.We are reviewing and updating our Safety Management System (SMS), policies, procedures and documentation in line with current WHS thinking, developing a worker centric health and safety approach.Through consultation and collaboration with managers and employees at all levels of the organisation, you'll bring our SMS to life, ensuring we adopt and progress effective wellbeing, health and safety practices across both physical and psychosocial risks.You will help people to understand and make sense of current wellbeing, health and safety thinking and ideas, turning these concepts into reality through strong communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.Key responsibilities will include :
  • Redeveloping our SMS including updates to processes, templates and systems that support wellbeing health and safety management across the organisation
  • Supporting our Accredited Employer Programme requirements including our health and safety management system, injury management, audits and assurance
  • Communicating and influencing effectively to build capability across the organisation'
  • Providing expertise and support across all levels of the organisation to support a risk-based approach to physical and psychosocial risk management
  • Working collaboratively with other team members, and the wider organisation to ensure a consistent and aligned approach to wellbeing, health and safety

  • You'll have a comprehensive knowledge of the new AEP requirements. You'll be a wellbeing health and safety practitioner of the future, passionate about engagement, collaboration and systems thinking. Your strengths will include communication, collaboration and consultation across a wide range of audiences.With an eye for detail and processes you'll be able to translate that into systems, and language that people can understand and implement.You'll be able to work without close supervision, demonstrate initiative and exercise sound judgement and decision making.In addition, you'll have :
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Accredited Employer Programme requirements, with experience in audits and assurance
  • Demonstrated expertise in current wellbeing, health and safety practice, including knowledge and application of relevant legislation, contemporary thinking and emerging trends. A Wellbeing, Health and Safety qualification would be well regarded
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in wellbeing, health and safety risk management in the public sector, health, insurance or similar industry
  • Effective problem-solving, influencing, risk management and analytical skills'
