What you'll do :
We're looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to lead the strategic direction and execution of our social mediainitiatives that strengthen the brand's presence, reputation, and engagement across platforms for Genesis and Ecotricity- our latest product brand.
This is a newly created, Auckland-based role, giving you the chance to truly own our social media strategy and elevate how we show up for our audiences.
You'll lead a small team, work closely with senior leaders, and bring your creative vision, strategic mindset, and confident communication skills to an environment that's fast-moving and evolving.
In this role, you will :
Develop and implement a long-term social media strategy aligned with business and brand goals.
Lead channel growth, content planning, and audience engagement across multiple platforms.
Oversee the creation of high-quality, on-brand, and engaging content that connects with our audiences.
Manage and mentor a small team, fostering creativity, accountability, and growth.
Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and storytelling.
Monitor and report on performance metrics, providing insights that shape future activity.
Note : The internal title for this role is Social Media Manager, however, we have adjusted the advertised title to more accurately reflect the level of expertise and experience needed for the role.
What you'll bring :
You're a confident communicator and strategic leader who thrives in dynamic environments.
You combine creative flair with analytical thinking and can stay calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
You'll bring :
8+ years of social media experience, including at least 2 in a senior or strategic leadership role.
Proven success developing and executing high-performing social media strategies.
Experience leading and mentoring teams combined with influencing senior stakeholders.
Strong understanding of analytics, insights, and digital trends.
Confidence in crisis management, reputation protection, and stakeholder communication.
Exceptional storytelling, copywriting, and problem-solving skills.
The courage to challenge and the confidence to push back when it matters.
