Overview

Prospect School Auckland is developing a Samoan bilingual class for Y4–6, beginning in term 1 2026. We are seeking a dedicated faiaoga to lead this journey and help lay the foundations for a future Samoan bilingual unit that nurtures both language and culture, while supporting learners to achieve success within the New Zealand Curriculum.

As the Samoan bilingual class teacher, you will :

Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in both Samoan and English
Promote cultural pride within our kura
Collaborate with whānau and community to shape a culturally sustaining learning environment
Plan and deliver programmes that meet the academic and holistic needs of Y4–6 tamariki
Encourage and build an atmosphere of tautua
Open communication and connection with aiga and community

We are looking for

A fluent speaker of Gagana Samoa, with a strong understanding of Samoan culture and protocols

A qualified, registered teacher in New Zealand

Someone who is passionate about bilingual education and committed to student success

A team player who is enthusiastic, reflective, and willing to help grow something special from the ground up
