About the Role

We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and dedicated team at Wairarapa Hospital wanting to make a difference to our patients and their Whanau.

These are casual positions working 0 - 80 hours per fortnight, as and when required.

Applicants must be available at short notice to cover any shift, including weekends and nights.

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a resident of permanent visa status

About the Team / Service / Location

The Duty Nurse Team works in partnership with other staff - clinical and non-clinical - to ensure the safe, efficient and effective running of the hospital.

This includes ensuring appropriate transitions of care for the deteriorating patient, coordination of resource utilisation, and upholding continuous quality improvement and standards.

About you

Previous experience (at least one year) in an Acute Inpatient Service is essential.

Demonstrated skills and caring attitude towards people.

Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with other members of the health team.

Proven communication skills for patient care and team work.

Initiative, enthusiasm and a desire to learn and improve own practice.
