Overview

Senior Advisor Strategic Finance at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children

The Senior Advisor Strategic Finance will assist in the external budgeting cycle, Oranga Tamariki wide investment plans, business cases, budget initiatives, information gathering and capital asset management and help Oranga Tamariki integrate its financial, performance, policy and investment advice.

Responsibilities

  • Help Oranga Tamariki optimise its baseline performance by providing strategic analysis, critical reviews, data analytics, reporting, and modelling services
  • Contribute to Budget Bids, provide financial advice, insights and recommendations
  • Support and inform Executive decision making, programmes, initiatives, projects, and policy creation

    Key requirements of the role include :

  • A good understanding of the social investment approach, performance management, policy development processes and familiarity with the parliamentary process and the workings of legislation
  • Experience in the initiation, development and implementation of initiatives that align with the organisation's strategic direction
  • Highly developed strategic analysis skills over financial and nonfinancial data
  • A chartered accountancy qualification or similar is desirable
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
  • Ability to write clear and concise papers to Senior Leadership teams and Ministers

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $125,926 and $139,459 depending on experience.
