Salary range : $60,703 to $66,911.

He oranga taiao, he oranga tangata.About the roleWe're looking for two fixed-term Rangers to help maintain and improve visitor facilities and protect key heritage sites in Aoraki / Mount Cook.

The position will be focussed on : Maintaining campsites, picnic areas, car parks, toilets, and water systems.Maintaining back country huts, bridges, and other structures.Supporting office tasks like data entry, planning, and coordinating field trips.Assisting the wider teams when required.Please note, this role is rostered 5 days per week on a rotating 7-day roster.

Overnight trips (up to a week) in remote backcountry locations will be required, with access often by helicopter, boat, or on foot.Skills and experienceIf you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you : Full New Zealand Driver's licencePhysically fit with backcountry experienceStrong health and safety focusTech savvy skills and ability to learn new systemsExcellent communications and teamwork skillsPractical problem-solving skillsDesirable : Carpentry / construction experienceExperience in maintaining visitor facilities, tracks and structuresExperience and qualifications with use of chainsaws, scrub bars, 4WDS, LUVs and helicoptersA current First Aid certificate.What's in it for you?
