- The Electoral Commission is looking for a Manager, IT Infrastructure & Operations to join the Information Technology team.
You will be part of a great, supportive, and fun team - leading the future of the Commission's infrastructure capabilities and ensuring effective operations within our IT team.
You'll also work as a key member of the IT leadership team to grow and develop our capabilities and create a fulfilling work environment.This will be a rewarding role, where you will see your efforts directly contributing to providing an effective and impartial electoral system that New Zealanders understand and trust.
It will challenge you to think strategically about our infrastructure platforms, deploy hardware and productivity solutions to our electoral workforce and scale our platforms to meet regular shifts in demand.
You'll have the opportunity to mature and develop our own capabilities in IT operations and infrastructure management, lifting our quality of services to deliver an event critical to our democracy.The salary band is $170k-$189k

We are seeking candidates who :Have extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure and operations, including customer-service and support in a complex organisational environmentWith a proven track record of developing and implementing infrastructure strategies that align with business goals.Bring a strong expertise in network and infrastructure management, including cloud platform and software as a service technologies, with a focus on performance optimisation and reliability.Have proven experience in managing infrastructure & operation teams and suppliers.Bring significant leadership skills, with the ability to grow and develop our staff to work as a high performing team.Are effective in working under pressure, managing stakeholder relationships and balancing competing priorities.Have a depth knowledge of IT operations and frameworks.Summary of Key responsibilitiesDefine and describe the strategic direction and roadmap for the organisation's IT infrastructure.Oversee the IT Service operations of the Commission.Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure & Operations team and critical suppliers.Develop business plans for the investment in the Commission's infrastructure capabilities.Work closely with the Commission's senior leaders and project managers as a critical member of delivering election events.Te Kaitiaki Take Kowhiri | About the Electoral CommissionThe Electoral Commission wants every New Zealander to trust, value and take part in parliamentary elections.Here is your chance to contribute to New Zealand's democracy as part of a small team of electoral experts who design, build, and implement processes and systems for Parliamentary elections and referenda.It is an exciting and varied role within a team which is committed, supportive and hands-on.
