About the role :

The position can be based anywhere on the North Island and reports to the NZ Manager. The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage an existing portfolio of business, with responsibilities NZ wide. A key focus will be on driving high retention and new sales activity within this portfolio, as well as developing and maintaining a pipeline of business opportunities that supports business goals.

How you'll make an impact

  • Deliver profitable and sustainable business opportunities by establishing productive professional relationships with key broker personnel and provide leadership of the portfolio
  • Qualify opportunities and client needs with the purpose of creating successful outcomes for Elantis
  • Develop and maintain a new business sales pipeline through prospect identification and generating new business leads externally whilst maintaining accuracy of the pipeline
  • Training brokers in the Broker Quoting portal system and maintain own knowledge of this system and the broker set up and interfacing process
  • Present to brokers and wider team where required
  • Manage own time and priorities with competing deadlines
  • Analyse and monitor performance against sales budgets, revenue and profit, and take strategic action to ensure delivery of established targets
  • Attend regular networking opportunities (internally, externally) through events, client industry forums, education sessions for the purpose of developing relationships with potential prospects
  • Learn from wins and share success stories as well as learn from losses to strengthen other opportunities
  • Develop a pitch document where required
  • Understand the credit procedure, assist with managing bad debts, cancellations and refunds
  • Manage the loan process from quote through to approval to ensure client satisfaction and efficient turnaround times

About you

You are a highly self‑motivated and driven individual with excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in people and developing relationships. You are high‑energy, love being client‑facing and doing high level presentations. We’re after someone who has strong time management and analytical skills, is data driven and a keen problem solver.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will also have :

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position (preferred)
  • Insurance industry or financial industry experience (preferred)
  • Full NZ Driver’s license (essential)
  • Confident with all Microsoft Office applications (essential)
  • Sales pipeline tool / CRM / online quote tools experience (desirable)
  • Dip. Fin. Services or other related tertiary qualifications (desirable)
