The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled, dynamic and enthusiastic Speech Language Therapist to join the Adult Treatment and Rehabilitation team, at Middlemore Hospital. We are looking for a Speech Language Therapist with advanced skills in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing impairments to provide service to patients on the stroke pathway. Experience and competencies in FEES and VFSS are essential.
You will be able to work autonomously, as well as be part of a multi‑disciplinary and wider Speech Language Therapy team. You will be required to work across the stroke pathway, and you will need to be flexible to support the SLT team, where needed. Your role will involve supporting other SLTs to achieve their clinical competencies and will include provision of supervision and an element of leadership. There will be many opportunities for on‑going professional and personal development and peer review and formal supervision, will be well supported.

This is an excellent career development opportunity for an experienced Speech Language Therapist with a passion for clinical leadership, workforce development and a desire to contribute to service design across the Stroke Pathway. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the SLT Section Head, Professional Lead and other Advanced Clinicians to ensure high quality, evidence‑based practice throughout the stroke pathway service. The successful candidate will be required to work across services and will need to be flexible to support the SLT team, where needed.
