Nurse Maude, a trusted name in community health and support services, is looking for a permanent part-time Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in Christchurch, working approximately 56 hours a fortnight.
This is your opportunity to contribute to a values-led organisation that supports thousands of people across Canterbury.As a Payroll Officer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time.
You'll be responsible for processing fortnightly payrolls, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with legislation such as the Holidays Act 2003.
You'll also support the Payroll Manager in delivering a streamlined, customer-focused payroll service.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess wages, salaries, and allowances with precision and timelinessMaintain and update employee recordsEnsure compliance with relevant legislation and collective agreementsRespond to payroll queries professionally and efficientlySupport the team during peak periods and staff absencesContribute to continuous improvement and uphold health, safety, and wellbeing standardsActively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o WaitangiExperience & Knowledge3+ years' payroll experience in a medium to large organisationStrong understanding of NZ payroll legislation, including the Holidays Act 2003Familiarity with Collective AgreementsProven experience using the PayGlobal payroll systemExceptional data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and related applicationsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approachAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentA commitment to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o WaitangiPersonal AttributesFriendly, personable, and approachablePositive and energetic, with a "can-do" attitudeFlexible, adaptable, and committed to getting the job doneA genuine team player who contributes to a supportive and values-driven cultureWillingness to engage in training and development to maintain and grow your skillsKi te huanga - Benefits of working at Nurse MaudeMake a real difference with your work — join a trusted organisation that cares for its community.For over 120 years, Nurse Maude has been a respected leader in delivering nursing, homecare, hospice, and specialist services to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
