Salary : $62,702 to $105,996 annually (to be negotiated), 35 hours per week

Overview

Teach primary school students in a rural setting, fostering their academic, physical, mental, and social development.

Responsibilities

Discuss results and students' progress with students, parents, and school officials

Participate in staff meetings

Supervise teaching assistants and train student teachers

Assign and correct homework

Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and school readiness

Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum

Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and field trips

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate

Membership in a provincial or territorial teachers' association or federation

1 to less than 7 months of experience

Accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, interpersonal awareness, organized, team player, values and ethics

Security and safety

Criminal record check

Vulnerable sector check
