Senior UI / UX Designer - Auckland - Freelance Contract - Start as soon as possible

Design Systems, UI & UX Experience - UI / UX Designer Competitive Rates, Innovative and Impactful Projects Auckland-Based Contract Role.

About the Role

Join a team focused on digital excellence for a major Gaming platform in the highly engaging enthusiast product space. role requires a dedicated Senior UI / UX Designer to elevate the platform's visual presence and user experience, ensuring world-class execution and adherence to a meticulous design system. You will be a crucial link between product strategy and engineering reality, focusing on holistic, high-fidelity, accessible, and scalable design solutions.

Duties

Drive the end-to-end design process, focusing equally on User Interface (UI) aesthetics and User Experience (UX) flow and usability.
Apply expertise in Figma to contribute to and maintain a centralized, scalable Design System, ensuring consistency across all user touchpoints.
Focus on high-fidelity visual design while ensuring all solutions are backed by sound UX principles and meet strict accessibility standards.
Manage the design-to-development handover, including clear documentation of both visual specs and interaction design.
Drive the recurring custom design, styles, and components for key product pages based on user needs.
Engage in strong collaboration with Product and Engineering teams, synthesizing research and business goals into effective designs.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven proficiency in both UI design (visuals, interaction) and UX design (information architecture, user flow, wireframing).

Extensive, hands-on experience using Figma in a professional environment.

Demonstrable experience contributing to or maintaining a robust Design System.

A strong portfolio showcasing high-fidelity UI / work system components is mandatory.

Excellent ability to manage competing priorities and communicate design rationale effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience integrating user research and testing into the design process.
