Overview

Reporting to the Service Lead Community Development Capacity, the Community Development Officer – Community Partnership Projects is responsible for facilitating partnerships and projects to support community action and helping local community organisations become more efficient, effective and resilient.

Responsibilities

  • Work with community organisations and groups to build skills, knowledge and experience
  • Support the development of a connected and collaborative community sector by bringing community organisations and groups together to learn and share
  • Identify, develop and implement partnership projects, programs and activities that deliver on community outcomes
  • Provide direct support to community led initiatives and projects
  • Assist the Service Lead Community Development to develop reports, funding submissions and grant acquittals as required

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, or similar, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in community development, or similar role
  • Experience in community projects, including researching, developing and managing projects
  • Knowledge of the principles of community development, with the ability to apply these in a local government context
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong project management skills, with experience and capability to manage multiple projects
  • Understanding of the principles of inclusion, with a demonstrated commitment to the application of inclusion principles in planning and delivery
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (under six months)
