Overview
Reporting to the Service Lead Community Development Capacity, the Community Development Officer – Community Partnership Projects is responsible for facilitating partnerships and projects to support community action and helping local community organisations become more efficient, effective and resilient.
Responsibilities
- Work with community organisations and groups to build skills, knowledge and experience
- Support the development of a connected and collaborative community sector by bringing community organisations and groups together to learn and share
- Identify, develop and implement partnership projects, programs and activities that deliver on community outcomes
- Provide direct support to community led initiatives and projects
- Assist the Service Lead Community Development to develop reports, funding submissions and grant acquittals as required
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, or similar, or equivalent experienceA minimum of 2 years’ experience in community development, or similar roleExperience in community projects, including researching, developing and managing projectsKnowledge of the principles of community development, with the ability to apply these in a local government contextStrong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skillsStrong project management skills, with experience and capability to manage multiple projectsUnderstanding of the principles of inclusion, with a demonstrated commitment to the application of inclusion principles in planning and deliverySatisfactory National Police Clearance (under six months)Why apply / Benefits
