About the roleWe have an opportunity for a sharp minded technologist to join our Engineering Practice in a Senior Software Engineer position (Intermediate Engineer role).

The role is embedded in the AML squad, which is a key part of the Financial Crime Platform.Financial Crime platform squads primarily focus on, prevention and management of the impact of financial crime happening.

The Platform is divided into 3 domains which represent our 3 squads : Fraud, AML & Sanctions.

Our squads support our Operations staff fighting financial crime on the front line.About the roleAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will take the ownership and proactively manage the availability and performance of all supported technologies along with other SRE engineers in the platform.

This role will support ongoing project and BAU tasks, aligning with DevOps practices.What You'll DoLinux and Windows operating systems server supportAML squad - Applications / Systems supportDevelop your technical competence using fault situations as an opportunity to learnAssist in the resolution of technical incidents and problems as Tiers 1 & 2 supportVulnerability managementMaintain and support Azure DevOps pipelinesInvolvement in process management and improvementComfortable working in a highly regulatory environmentAbout youWillingness to learn, proven initiative, knowledge sharing, documentation skills, problem solving abilities and leadership skills are what we look for in every engineer to lead from their position.With regards to background, you will need the following capabilities : 6+ years of experience as a systems engineer or software engineerIntermediate level Windows and Linux systems administration skillsAutomation mindset to automate highly repetitive tasksScripting (PowerShell and Bash)Deployment / release automation - Octopus, Ansible etcExposure to working with TFS, ADO or GitHubExposure to SQL Database or Oracle Database administrationObservability knowledge and experience with ElasticCapabilities Not Mandatory But Would Be FavourableExperience working within Agile and DevOps frameworksExposure to Cloud TechnologiesAny Azure Fundamental level certificationsWhat Is In It For YouAt ASB, we are dedicated to our purpose of accelerating financial progress for all New Zealanders.
