Overview

Supply Chain & Operations Manager

Our client is a long-established business, recognised leader in the interiors sector, supplying premium products through selective retail partnerships, e-commerce, and an expanding network of interior designers. With operations in both New Zealand and Australia, and significant growth planned, they are now seeking a strong leader to manage and elevate their end-to-end supply chain.

The Role

We are recruiting a hands-on Supply Chain & Operations Manager to oversee supplier management, procurement, inbound freight, and inventory control across New Zealand and Australia. Based in the southern edges of Auckland, this role will directly manage the NZ warehouse team (8–9 staff), provide oversight to the Warehouse manager Procurement Manager, and ensure stock is in the right place, at the right time, and to the right quality. Key challenges include managing international suppliers planning ahead to mitigate seasonal shipping delays, and embedding Lean practices across warehouses to improve flow and reduce waste. The role also carries responsibility for optimising ERP / WMS systems and driving smarter, system-led processes to support the company’s growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement, supplier performance, and inbound freight planning.
  • Oversee NZ warehouse operations and provide coaching / oversight to Australia.
  • Ensure accurate stock levels, replenishment, and trans-Tasman distribution.
  • Embed Lean principles to streamline workflows and drive efficiency.
  • Implement and optimise ERP / WMS systems for reporting and process automation.
  • Manage inbound quality control and work with suppliers on product improvements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and procurement teams.
  • Collaborate across sales, finance, and IT to ensure smooth operations.
  • Act as MPI Operator for the NZ site.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in supply chain, procurement, and warehouse / operations.
  • Strong supplier management background, ideally with exposure to Indian vendors.
  • Track record in inventory management, forecasting, and replenishment.
  • ERP / WMS system knowledge (NetSuite advantageous).
  • Familiarity with Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
  • Leadership style that balances accountability with coaching.
  • Proactive, detail-focused, and systems-driven.
