If you are interested in moving from out of town : Dannevirke is well‑known for its Scandinavian heritage, which dates back to 1872 when 21 Danish and Norwegian families arrived to settle the district. The town also boasts a proud Māori history, with Makirikiri Marae offering visitors the chance to admire the carvings at the Aotea Meeting House. In tribute to the town’s heritage, a strong ‘Viking’ theme can be found throughout.
