Wakatipu High School is seeking a teacher aide for a permanent position commencing on 21 January
This role is 31 hours 15 minutes per week,
The position requires an outgoing, caring individual who is happy to work calmly and efficiently with high school students of all ages (in one-to-one situation or in small groups) under teacher supervision.
Experience working with children with behavioural and / or learning difficulties is desirable.
Applicants should be aware of the requirements for a high standard of numeracy and literacy in English.
Key responsibilities / duties :
Work with students (in a one-to-one situation or in small groups) who present with behavioural or learning differences within or alongside the mainstream class and off-site, as required.
Support the classroom teacher or off-site WHS staff by working with targeted students in their mainstream class or off-site.
With the off-site staff or classroom teacher, use agreed strategies to manage student's behaviour.
Work with the student and other students to boost learning, independence and social skills.
Liaise with the classroom teacher to ensure the best support is provided to the targeted student(s).
Other reasonably requested duties as required.

Pay rate will be as per the Support Staff in Schools' Collective Agreement at the Teacher Aide Salary Scale Grade BC4 $
