Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
We have a fulltime Positive Behaviour for Learning School-Wide (PB4L-SW) Practitioner position available in our Canterbury Region. PB4L-SW is part of the PB4L suite which includes evidence-based initiatives that can be implemented alone or in combination. These initiatives support learners at a whole-school level, or they can be targeted for the needs of specific learners at a group or individual level.
The Ministry of Education is committed to inclusive practice and all our PB4L initiatives aim to encourage pro-social behaviour that leads to improved learner engagement and achievement. We work alongside families, early childhood educators, schools, and other agencies to make a positive difference for children and young people.
PB4L School-Wide is a Universal (whole school) approach to improving learner wellbeing and achievement. PB4L School-wide enables schools to create positive environments that promote caring relationships and quality teaching and learning. School-Wide Practitioners work alongside schools supporting them to develop systems and practices that foster safe and inclusive environments in a culturally responsive way.
The role available is fulltime at 1.0 FTE and is based in our Christchurch office supporting Kura / schools across the Canterbury region.
Salary range : $69996-$ per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.
Mōhou ake | About you
We are seeking a qualified and experienced specialist with the capability of working in Kura Kaupapa Māori and English medium environments to join our school-wide team in the Canterbury Region.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strengths in Te Reo me tikanga Māori and show a strong understanding of mātauranga māori.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge and experience of developing systems to support positive behaviour; adult learning; and working with staff and school communities to understand what is required to meet student needs. We are seeking a confident presenter who is comfortable facilitating change through building and maintaining relationships.
