We are seeking a experienced Headof EStates to lead the Estates Department andensure the optimal operation across 3 hospital sites, based at the Kent andCanterbury Hospital and also managing 2 ancillary sites; Royal VictoriaHospital, Folkestone and Buckland Hospital in Dover.This role iskey in maintaining the delivery of critical clinical services by managing theestate, plant, and equipment efficiently, safely, and in compliance withstatutory, mandatory, and HTM regulations.You will leadamultidisciplinary team of managerial, technical, and administrative staff,ensuring high performance bothindividuallyand collectively.The role encompasses maintenance,compliance, projects, lifecycle planning, and performance management throughKPIs, SLAs, and other key deliverables.As the technical expert, you will provide strategic advice, propose and implement solutions, manage budgets, oversee procurement and maintain customer liaison with theTrustand clinical teams.

This involves understanding the intimate workings of the hospital, havingin-depth knowledge of the plant and equipment you are operating, and proactively managing your service toensure the operation not only runs but is effectively and efficiently planned to enable full compliance withstatutory, mandatory, and HTM regulations, and lifecycle management.This will be delivered via a team of managerial, technical and administrative staff and it will be theresponsibility of this role to ensure that these staff perform both individually and as part of the team to achievethis objective.
The role will be responsible for maintenance,compliance, repairs, projects and lifecycle planningof the sites managed and ensure performance is adequately delivered for our Client, the Trust, anddemonstrated via various KPIs, SLAs and other deliverables on a monthly basis.As the professional in this discipline, the role will be expected to provide sound advice and propose / implementsolutions for both 2Gether, the Trust and clinical customers and will be viewed as the expert in this field.Responsibilities will also include budget and cost planning, specification writing, procurement,reporting, help and extensive customer liaison / communication.This role is also required to be part of the on call rota and will be required to attend site outside of normalworking hours to support incidents, emergency planning and contingencies.
There will be a need to attendother sites and therefore the ability to drive under a full UK licence is essential.Person SpecificationQualificationsProfessional knowledge acquired through a degreeor equivalent, plus specialist knowledge acquiredthrough post-graduate courses or specialistcourses.Membership of a recognised Building Servicesinstitute.Recognised training to appointed person status for : High & Low Voltage services, Piped Medical Gases,Management qualification or training.Experience10 years experience in a mechanical andelectrical environment, preferably within the NHSwith 5 years at management level.Alternative relevant sector experience will beKnowledge and SkillsGood problem solving skills with a mechanical andelectrical aptitude.
