• Chief Executive Office, People and Culture
• group
• is responsible for ensuring the cultural capabilities - sought through Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga - are built and embedded throughout the organisation. This Group contributes to the strategic leadership of Maritime NZ through supporting the design, delivery and embedding of the organisation's strategy Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga and ensures change is well planned and delivered.
• Te tūnga | The role
• As the Chief Advisor Health and Safety you'll be responsible for providing insight and thought leadership on our organisation's health and safety strategies, frameworks and programme design to ensure we demonstrate leadership in our internal health and safety practices. You will be a confident communicator well versed in providing strategic technical advice at the Executive Leadership and Board level. You will enjoy making connections across an organisation, our partner organisations and the sector, and will work in collaboration with the DCE, the Manager People, Health and Safety and the wider People, Capability and Culture team.
• Nōu te rourou | What you bring
• Significant experience in a senior health and safety advisory or leadership role;
• Proven experience providing technical advice at Board and Executive level;
• Track record of delivery of health and safety programmes, policies and practices in an operating environment
• Strong working knowledge of New Zealand health and safety regulatory requirements and frameworks;
• Ability to work strategically and think at system wide level;
• Well-developed organisational skills and strong attention to detail;
• Ability to network and influence at all levels;
• Political acumen and an understanding of the Public Sector;
• Commitment to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and having regard to Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
