• About the role
• We have an opportunity for a Kaumatua who is able to provide in depth guidance, advice, direction and support at clinical and cultural levels within Tāwhirimātea inpatient unit, Regional Rehabilitation services, Te Korowai Whariki, MHAIDS, in a role that reflects Te Ao Maori. This is a part time position is based in Tawhirimatea inpatient unit.
• About the Team / Service / Location
• Te Korowai Whariki is part of the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service, MHAIDS. Te Korowai Whariki covers the Central Region from Tairawhiti on the East Coast across to Whanganui and south to Wellington and Wairarapa. The service encompasses Central Region Forensic Inpatient and community services, Youth Forensic service and Regional Rehabilitation and Extended Care Inpatient Services.
• About you
• Our ideal applicant will be :
• A highly motivated Maori cultural leader.
• Positive attributes include a knowledge of Tikanga, maintaining the Kawa and Kaupapa of the service and provide guidance to mental health services on issues relating to Tikanga Maori.
• To be a proficient speaker of Te Reo Maori.
• The ability to work independently and / or as part of a team.
