Based at Dunedin Hospital covering the Southern RegionPermanent, full-time roleSalary $99,000 to $124,000 depending on skills and experienceManage a variety of construction projectsEnd to end involvement from business case, concept design, through construction and handoverHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleNewly added role to Southern's Capital Works team to add relevant experience and skills to the team and to meet the workload demand.We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the team and manage a range of construction projects.

These projects range from renovation / refurbishment / relocation projects, to building new theatres and installing new technology and cutting-edge medical equipment, as well as energy reduction / decarbonisation projects as we move towards a carbon zero future.This role will be responsible for leading some of these projects across the region, from Southland to Queenstown, to Dunedin.

Our team manages the projects from concept design through to construction and handover and works closely with the wider Health New Zealand Southern staff.

Given the nature of duties, you may need to travel to other locations within the Health New Zealand Southern region to fulfil the requirements of the role.A challenging, yet rewarding role, you will oversee the day to day running of these capital projects, ensuring a compliant, efficient, and safe operation.

You will work alongside the team at the Building and Property Department to ensure the success of these projects and help improve the health and wellbeing of our community.About the Team / Service / LocationFor more information on living and working in Dunedin, click here.About youOur ideal candidate will have : 3 - 4 years' applied or honors degree in engineering, project engineering, project management, construction or a related field.5 - 10 years' experience managing projects across a variety of project types and experience in managing consultant engineers from various engineering disciplinesprevious experience working on capital projects with multimillion dollar budgetsknowledge of the healthcare environment (would be hugely beneficial)the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
