12-month Fixed Term Contract.
Onsite or Hybrid : Devonport, Auckland.
Step into a pivotal role where your leadership in emergency preparedness directly impacts the safety of people, vessels, and infrastructure.
You'll lead the charge in developing tailored emergency plans, running high-impact drills, and ensuring readiness across a complex marine environment.
You'll be the go-to expert for critical risk control, working alongside operational teams to embed safety into every high-risk activity.
This is more than a compliance role — it's a chance to shape culture, build capability, and lead a volunteer Emergency Response Team with purpose.
You'll influence strategic safety outcomes, provide technical guidance, and drive continuous improvement in emergency systems.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of emergency response plans for a marine environment.
Coordinate and conduct high-impact drills and exercises.
Act as the subject matter expert for critical risk assessment and control implementation.
Lead and develop a volunteer Emergency Response Team, embedding safety into high-risk activities.
Provide technical guidance and drive continuous improvement in emergency systems and processes.
Influence strategic safety outcomes and engage with operational teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
NZQA or higher emergency response training / assessor certification
Confined Space, Work at Heights, and Advanced First Aid qualified
Fire and Rescue or Mines Rescue formal qualifications (preferred)
H&S qualification (Cert IV in Health & Safety preferred)
