We are looking for 2x Cooks for a busy Restaurant in Waikato Region.

We are a business for many years and are looking for the next key member of our kitchen team.Job Responsibilities :

o Making delicious ethnic curry dishes and Tandoori dishes for our consumers

o Making the food according to standards for preparation, seasoning, portioning, and presentation

o Following recipes while weighing, measuring, mixing, and making food

o Plate presentation and garnishing

o Prepare the gravies and sauces in accordance with the week's demands

o Inspecting stored and chilled ingredients for freshness and quality

o Control the temperatures of the cooking appliances - tandoor ovens

o Preparing meals to satisfy consumers' specific dietary needs

o Always keep your hygiene in check to avoid any health hazards

o Manage food safety in the kitchen by following all relevant parts of the Food control Plan

o Cleaning the kitchen and following workplace hygiene procedures and regulations are important in keeping the workplace clean.

o Ensure that mandatory and voluntary compliance activities in the kitchen are completed

o You must follow workplace health and safety procedures to avoid injury

o Ensure Health and Safety is addressed in day-to-day activities

o Train other kitchen workers as needed

Description :

Vacancies- Curry and Tandoori Cook

Number of positions – 2x

Location – Franklin, Waikato

Hourly wage rate - $27 to $28

Full Time- 30 hours week is guaranteed or more as per the business needs

Requirements of the position :

o The ideal person will have 1 year experience in kitchen or relevant NZQA level 2 or 3 qualification

o Able to work on weekends and public holidays

o Flexibility to work any of the 7 days during the week as per the roster

o Able to take up split shifts

o Working well under pressure and within the time limit

o Able to work unsupervised

o A passion for hospitality and a willingness to contribute to the team's success

o Thorough experience with Indian curry and Tandoori dish preparation is an advantage

Preferences for these positions are NZ Citizens or Residents or valid work visa holders.
