Overview
We are looking for two advisors on deaf children, permanent full-time positions with flexible starting dates.
You will be part of our close-knit, community-focused team.
The role can be based in one of our offices – Kaitaia, Kerikeri or Whang e1rei where we offer a fantastic lifestyle and work-life balance opportunity.
As an advisor on deaf children, you will play a critical role in our region's learning support team by :
Providing high quality learning support in accordance with the Ministry's practice framework, He Pikorua, to babies and children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families
Understanding the families' needs, collaboratively planning, supporting and monitoring the implementation of intervention plans
Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child's needs are addressed
To be successful in this role, you will be a dynamic, team player.
You will have both the passion and expertise to support excellent educational outcomes for Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Children within our region.
Experience and knowledge of New Zealand Sign Language
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with children, young people and their families and teachers across a diverse range of settings
A full NZ driver's licence
Relevant qualification and recent experience.
