About the role

As a Civil Utility Worker, you will support our team with laying electrical cables, installing high-voltage equipment, and removing outdated gear. Based at our Arwen depot in Auckland, you will help deliver and install electrical assets across Greater Auckland, working closely with our sub-division and electrical teams. You will also play a key role in maintaining safety by identifying hazards and stopping unsafe work when necessary. This role reports to the Field Services Manager – Underground Connections and Civil.

• Perform manual tasks like digging, backfilling, and installing cables and equipment
• Organise your tasks to manage productivity effectively
• Identify hazards and set up safe worksites following safety practices
• Contribute to toolbox talks and help implement safety controls
• Check and maintain Northpower equipment to ensure it’s in top condition
• Safely transport materials and gear to worksites
