Permanent full-time (37.5 hours a week)

About the role | Te Whiwhinga mahi

  • NZEI Te Riu Roa is looking for a Trade Union Field Officer to join our team. You will report to the Lead Organiser and your role will include :
  • Planning for regular contact and visibility for your assigned worksites / member groups
  • Implement campaign and sector strategies to achieve union goals in your region
  • Identifying, development and coaching of member leaders.

Skills and experience | Nā tāu rourou

  • Strong relational skills to manage worksite, group and member leader relationships
  • Has experience working in union or social-impact organisation working to give people the tools to advocate for their cause
  • An interest in publicly-funded education, commitment to Te Tiriti, unionism and social justice
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a team situation.
  • NZEI Te Riu Roa is committed to honouring and giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in te reo and tikanga Māori.
