Overview

OPERATIONAL COORDINATOR – RESIDENT MEDICAL OFFICER (RMO) UNIT

  • Permanent, full-time - 1 FTE / 40 hours per week
  • Location : Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty – Tauranga Hospital
  • Salary : This role is covered by PSA Clerical and Administration Pay Equity - Salary Band 6

About The Role

Play a key role in supporting the medical workforce across Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty. Reporting to the RMO Unit Manager, the purpose of the Operational Coordinator is to support the RMO Unit with the coordination of recruitment, rostering, deployment and support of the RMO workforce. This includes managing a variety of expense claims, monthly reports, assisting with run reviews, administrative duties and support. The coordinator will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a strong and supportive team.

About the Team / Service / Location

You’ll be joining a highly skilled, collaborative, and passionate team within the RMO Unit. Based at Tauranga Hospital, the service plays a central role in ensuring that RMOs are supported to deliver exceptional patient care while progressing through their clinical training.

About You

Our ideal candidate will bring at least three years' experience providing high-level support and coordination in complex business environments, with fluctuating workloads. Proven experience in coordinating and successfully managing critical tasks, across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities across a range of activities.

You're someone who thrives under pressure, managing tight deadlines and shifting demands with calm efficiency and a solutions-focused approach.

Detail-oriented and methodical, you're confident working with large datasets and enjoy transforming information into meaningful reporting metrics that support decision-making. Your ability to spot trends, ensure accuracy, and stay organised makes you a valuable asset in any fast-paced team.

You're trusted to handle highly confidential, private, and occasionally distressing information with discretion and sensitivity. Your strong sense of integrity and professionalism ensures that confidentiality is always maintained, no matter the situation.

Your background in healthcare or experience coordinating an RMO workforce will be highly advantageous. Understanding of legal frameworks and contracts to ensure compliance. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic approach.
