At The Warehouse Group (TWG), we’re proud to be one of New Zealand’s largest retail operations – home to beloved brands like The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery and Noel Leeming. Behind the scenes, our Distribution Centres are where the action really happens – and we’re on the lookout for a reliable, hands‑on Facilities Security Team Member to help keep things moving, secure, and in top shape at our North Island Distribution Centre.

This is a varied and physical role that sits at the core of our facilities operations. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our site while also supporting daily operational and contractor‑related tasks. From monitoring site access and issuing permits to work, to operating forklifts and conducting site checks, no two days are the same – and you’ll be working alongside a supportive, tight‑knit team that keeps our DC running like clockwork.

This role is Monday - Friday 9 : 30am - 6 : 00pm.

Role DCSPEC1 - DCSPEC 4 (depending on experience)

Key responsibilities include :

  • Issuing permits to work and hot work permits for onsite and external contractors
  • Reviewing JSA and SWMS documents and ensuring contractor compliance with H&S guidelines
  • Monitoring and managing site security – including gatehouse duties, CCTV systems, and perimeter checks
  • Performing daily facility inspections and reporting any maintenance needs
  • Assisting departments with bin collection, truck loading, and general site logistics
  • Operating forklifts and MHE to support logistics and recycling processes
  • Managing cardboard and polystyrene baling to support our sustainability efforts
  • Supporting general facilities maintenance as needed

Must Have :

  • 3–5 years' experience in a facilities‑based role
  • Proven experience issuing permits to work and hot work permits
  • Understanding of working at heights and relevant safety protocols
  • Familiarity with building WOF processes and regulatory compliance
  • Experience monitoring contractors and ensuring adherence to H&S policies and procedures
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Basic computer literacy for logging inspections, reviewing permits, and reporting tasks
  • Desirable :

  • MHE licence (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Experience using CCTV and Building Management Systems (BMS)
