Job description

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.

We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations — from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.

Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

As a Senior PMO Analyst within the IIG Portfolio Management Office, you will play a central role in the day-to-day operations of the team. You'll lead the development and maintenance of portfolio reporting, providing insights into the overall health of the portfolio and tracking key performance indicators such as scope, budget, schedule, benefits, risks, and dependencies. Your work will include financial analysis across actuals, forecasts, and variances, and you'll collaborate with functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies.

As part of your responsibilities, you will contribute to the implementation of the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool, ensuring it supports consistent and high-quality reporting across the infrastructure portfolio. You will also manage the tool as a System Administrator, maintaining its configuration, user access, and data integrity to enable effective portfolio oversight and decision‑making.

About the Team / Service / Location

The IIG Portfolio Management Office is responsible for leading the standardisation and integration of the national and regional portfolios into one IIG portfolio through establishing best practice project, programme, portfolio management standards, frameworks, tools, processes, and templates. This includes improving project, programme, and portfolio capability and maturity across IIG and providing quality and timely information and insights to inform decision‑making and improve delivery performance.

About you

You're confident navigating government systems, building relationships across diverse teams, and leading initiatives that improve outcomes.

You bring a strong understanding of capital investment and project monitoring, and you're driven by the opportunity to contribute to a health system that delivers equitable and high‑quality care for all New Zealanders.

You will have :
