This bridge will enhance connectivity, resilience, and accessibility across the city.This role is about more than just delivery – it's about leadership, integration, and collaboration.You'll provide direction across design and construction, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and mentor others to lift project delivery capability across Council.
In this role, you will : Lead and deliver high-value, strategically significant infrastructure projects from design to completion.Manage all aspects of project delivery including scope, budget, procurement, and risk.Coordinate and integrate multi-disciplinary teams across Council, consultants, and contractors.Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal leaders, external partners, iwi, and government agencies.Provide visible leadership in governance and community engagement forums.Mentor and develop other Project Managers to build project delivery capability.Champion continuous improvement and innovation in project management practice.About YouYou're an accomplished Project Manager with deep experience in design, engineering, and infrastructure delivery.
You're confident operating at a strategic level while remaining hands-on in managing the detail of complex, high-value projects.You Will HaveA bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.8–10 years' experience leading complex, multi-million-dollar projects, ideally in infrastructure or construction.Strong financial and risk management skills, with experience in large capital programmes.Proven ability to lead and influence across technical, governance, and stakeholder groups.Excellent communication and relationship management skills, including experience presenting to senior leaders and elected members.Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.About UsAt Hutt City Council our vision is to build a connected, resilient and inclusive city where all our people thrive.
