Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (see substitution options below)
Current Surgical Technologist Certification required within one year of graduation or if employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013, or having completed military or U.S. Public Health Service training in surgical technology (per MA Senate Bill 2058, December 2012)
Graduates without certification have one year from graduation to obtain certification
Preferred Experience
At least 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist in an Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
