Project Manager

OverviewWe have a great opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the team.

The purpose of this role is to deliver transport infrastructure projects and support NZ Transport Agency's vision of efficiently delivering an integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable transport system, to create great journeys across the motu and to keep New Zealand moving.You will establish and nurture close collaboration with all partners, including local iwi, contractors and consultants to deliver project leadership.

You will ensure that outcomes delivered are best for the project and align to NZTA desired outcomes.

This is a multi-faceted role, managing our suppliers\' project teams.In this role you'll work with teams across NZTA, local authorities, and a variety of stakeholders and development partners.

You will lead projects through stages such as scope development, planning, procurement, detailed design and physical works as required.ResponsibilitiesContribute technical leadership across significant projects that deliver tangible benefits for the wider community.Lead project delivery through various stages (scope development, planning, procurement, detailed design, physical works).

Manage internal and external project teams, including collaboration with NZTA, local authorities, contractors and consultants.Ensure outcomes align with project goals and NZTA expectations.Qualifications and experience3-5 years of project management experience with exposure to construction or infrastructural project environments.Experience in construction project management, including schedule, financial and risk management, preferably in the transport sector.Ability to develop projects by working with internal and external professionals to develop scopes, designs and delivery options.Experience in managing contracts within the civil engineering industry and understanding delivery models using NZS391X format contracts.Collaborative, team-focused approach and strong relationship management skills.Ability to work in project teams with professionals from external organisations and influence with stakeholders in the transport sector or similar.LocationChristchurch and DunedinAbout usWaka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).
