Overview
The Warehouse Newmarket is seeking a friendly and efficient Self Checkout / Checkout Team Member to join our retail team on a permanent part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service whilst operating both traditional and self-checkout systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate traditional checkout tills and oversee self-checkout areas
- Process cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently
- Provide guidance to customers using self-checkout systems
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, tidy, and well-stocked
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of store products and promotions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak times
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines
Hours of work
Fridays & Saturdays - 4 : 00 pm to 9 : 00 pmQualifications
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanourStrong cash handling abilities and basic maths skillsProficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systemsKeen attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekendsPhysical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 15 kgPrevious retail experience, particularly in a checkout role, is desirable but not essentialAbility to work well in a team and independently when requiredStrong communication skills and a positive attitudeTā Mātou Tāpaetanga – What We Offer
