This is a permanent, full-time position based in Wellington or Auckland with a salary range of $98,689 to $120,941 per annum.
What You Will Do
Regulate and oversee participants with critical aviation security responsibilities, including regulated air cargo agents (RACA's), domestic and foreign airlines, airports, and air traffic service organisations.
Lead and support regulatory lifecycle activities such as certifications, audits, inspections, investigations, interviews and other critical aviation security regulation functions.
Apply legislative and regulatory requirements for aviation security, interpret and apply laws, regulations, standards, and guidance materials, and manage relationships with stakeholders at national and international levels.
Make evidence-based decisions that may be subject to scrutiny, review or appeal, and document regulatory outcomes and corrective actions to improve and manage risk.
Maintain a full New Zealand driver licence and be a New Zealand or Australian citizen, or a New Zealand permanent resident.
Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
What You Will Need
Technical aviation security expertise in one or more specialist areas across the aviation system (e.g., airlines, airports, or air cargo).
Proven regulatory experience including risk management, audit, and assurance principles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Confidence to influence at all levels and a demonstrated ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships.
Experience with regulatory decision making and documenting outcomes.
