Mo te turanga – About the role As a Financial Crime Investigations Manager in our Financial Crime Portfolio, you'll play a key role in our mission to protect ANZ and our communities against financial crime threats.

You'll utilise customer data and intelligence to detect, investigate, and escalate potentially suspicious activity such as money laundering, terrorism financing, and dealings with sanctioned parties.

Role Location : Auckland or Wellington Role Type : Permanent, Full-time Ka aha to ra e kite ai?

– What will your day look like You'll be part of our Financial Crime Threat Management (FCTM) team, working to protect ANZ, our customers, and our communities against financial crime threats.

Your day will involve investigating, managing, and advising on AML and Sanctions matters to ensure ANZ meets its governance, policy, and regulatory obligations.

Investigate a broad range of AML and Sanctions referrals, ensuring compliance with ANZ governance requirements, policies, and regulatory standards.

Facilitate end-to-end AML investigations generated from detection systems and threat assessments, escalating high-risk activity when required.

Identify and assess risks through MI reporting and analytics, recommending appropriate controls and improvements.

Deliver services in line with agreed SLAs, productivity, and quality targets, resolving issues or escalating as appropriate.

Provide subject matter expertise and advice to business unit managers and stakeholders, balancing AML / Sanctions risk with business objectives.

Manage communications with overseas banks regarding sanctions concerns and information requests.

Ou Pukenga – What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.

Adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working collaboratively across streams while also being able to operate independently with minimal supervision.

Strong understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering Financing of Terrorism (CFT) frameworks, including regulatory obligations and compliance requirements.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to investigate customer and account activity that may pose ML / TF risks.

Sound judgement and risk-based decision-making ability, applying insights from internal and external sources.

You're not expected to have % of these skills.
