Job Description
The Respiratory Care Instructor position is an 11-month, tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start of January 2026. This position requires the effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The respiratory care program will provide quality educational opportunities for students seeking to enter the healthcare arena as respiratory therapists to meet the healthcare needs of the community. The successful candidate will assist in developing the respiratory care program and in gaining accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, CoARC.
Once the program gains accreditation, the successful candidate will teach a broad range of courses in the department with the possibility of day, evening, weekend, or online teaching assignments as assigned. The instructor will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver subject matter content, monitor student attendance and progress, participate on departmental and College committees, participate in curriculum development, support activities that foster retention, participate in the selection of textbooks, perform the assessment of student learning outcomes, take part in other service and professional development activities, and assist in maintaining CoARC accreditation. This position reports to the Department Head, Allied Health.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master’s degree in respiratory care and completion of the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program.
Salary Range
$50,708.00 - $56,708.00 for an 11-month contract with a bachelor’s degree or less.
$53,458.00 - $59,458.00 for an 11-month contract with a master’s degree.
$58,208.00 - $64,208.00 for an 11-month contract with a doctorate degree.
(Entry level salary is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.)

Pay Details
Faculty members hired with less than three years of related experience shall be placed on the salary schedule as follows :
All degree classification levels add the appropriate dollars (up to $6,000) for years of credited experience to the annual salary figures above to determine entry salary.
