About the Role

We are seeking anAssociate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM)to join our Oncology service. This senior nursing leadership role works in partnership with theNurse Unit Managerto provide professional and operational leadership, ensuring safe and effective nursing care delivery within a multidisciplinary team environment.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will :

Provide visible and accessible professional nursing leadership to strengthen frontline nursing care

Support the management of nursing professional and clinical accountability, service delivery, workforce planning, quality, and safety

Contribute to innovative service improvement projects, including theCloser to Homeprogramme

Travel to regional sites as part of service leadership responsibilities

Lead delegated portfolios, clinical initiatives and contribute to directorate-wide quality, safety and improvement strategies

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior nurse to step into a key leadership position that combines direct clinical oversight, workforce leadership and service development.

About You

You will bring a strong foundation of clinical expertise, leadership experience and a commitment to advancing equitable outcomes for Maori and Pacific peoples.

Essential requirements :

Registered Nurse with current NZ Annual Practising Certificate (RGON, RN, BHSc Nursing)

Post-graduate Diploma, preferably working towards Masters.

Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience at a proficient / expert level of practice

Advanced speciality nursing experience (Oncology preferred)

Demonstrated leadership and change management skills

Strong knowledge of professional ethics, quality improvement and financial management

Commitment to bicultural practice and achieving equity for Maori

Ability to work effectively in a complex, dynamic environment within an interdisciplinary team

Desired :

Master's qualification

Previous Charge Nurse or senior leadership experience

Management training and / or project management expertise
